BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- It feels like Tom Brady's constantly setting records at this point, doesn't it?

With last night's 293 yards, the Patriots quarterback is the first NFL player to reach 80,000 total yards. 80,074 to be exact, which counts regular season and playoff stats.

Brady's 96 yards in front of retired QB Peyton Manning and about 2,200 ahead of active Saints signal-caller Drew Brees.

Brady and his coach Bill Belichick offered their thoughts on the new record after another win.

"These are all team awards, I certainly can't throw it to myself," Brady said. "I've got so many great teammates, guys blocking, coaches coaching. This is a great team sport. I just see those as all great team awards, I'm happy someone from the Patriots has it, and the fact that I get to play quarterback is pretty great for me."

"He's earned it," Belichick said. "Nobody's given him anything. He's worked harder than anybody to prepare each week, to practice, to improve, to be healthy, to take care of himself, and to know the game plan and know the defense. His achievements, he's earned them and deserves them. Did he pass the rushing record this week?"

Brady's sitting on 996 career rushing yards. It's only a matter of time.
