New Hampshire State Police Investigate Candia Fatal Crash

CANDIA, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — New Hampshire State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that killed one person early Wednesday.

According to officials, State Troopers from Troop A responded to the single vehicle crash on Route 101 Eastbound in Candia around 1:15 a.m.

When first responders arrived they found a Kia Forte sedan on the right hand side of the roadway in the tree line.

A passenger, identified as Ashley Shunk, 21, of Dover, NH was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver, identified as Christopher Wadleigh, 27 of Hampton, NH was seriously injured and brought to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, according to Police

Investigation suggests speed was a factor in the crash but officials say “all aspects remain under investigation,” authorities said.

Because of the crash, all lanes on Route 101 eastbound from Exit 2 up to Exit 3 was closed for approximately 4 hours while State Police investigated.
