Police Investigate Skier Death At Cannon Mountain

FRANCONIA, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A skier is dead after colliding into another skier at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, N.H., according to New Hampshire State Police.

Officials say the incident happened at 2:45 p.m. Friday when the two collided on an open trail.

Skier Jeremy Keiran, 39, of Somerville, Mass., was pronounced dead on the mountain. Another skier, 48-year-old Robert Slocum, of Newburyport, Mass., was taken to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, Kieran lost control of his skis while going down the Profile Trail on the mountain. He went off an embankment after sliding through roped off area. He struck Slocum, who was skiing on another trail.
