Blazing Five: Colin Cowherd Gives His 4 Best NFL Divisional Round Bets

Blazin' 5: Colin Cowherd Gives His Best NFL Bets For the Four Divisional Round Playoff Games.

(VIDEO SEGMENT ABOVE)

Last Week's Blazin' 5 record: 3-2

2021 Blazin' 5 record: 42-49-1 (Colin made bonus picks in Week 4 & 5)

Bengals at Titans (SPREAD: TEN -3.5)

“I’m going to take the Titans. Cincinnati is banged up and Mike Vrabel, like great coaches, is better off a bye. Vrabel is 4-0 as a head coach off a bye. The Titans are 11-2 when AJ Brown plays and 6-2 when Derrick Henry plays. Go back and look at the stats the first 8 weeks with Derrick Henry, he was unstoppable. The Bengals defense is banged up, Joe Burrow is the most sacked quarterback, six more times than any other quarterback. The Bengals have the worst o-line left in the playoffs, and the Bengals offensive line was rated 20th this year. I don’t think you can win multiple playoff games with the worst o-line in the playoffs, as much as I like Burrow. I’ll take the Titans to win and cover, 28-23.”

Colin's prediction: Titans 28, Bengals 23.

Colin's pick: Tennessee -3.5

49ers at Packers (SPREAD: GB -5.5)

“I have no strong vibes on this. It would be my weakest pick but I’ll take the Packers -5.5. Za'Darious Smith may play, Jaire Alexander may play, and David Bakhtiari should play. Green Bay doesn’t beat themselves. They were the least penalized team in the league and they had the fewest giveaways in the league. So if you don’t beat yourself, I don’t see Jimmy Garoppolo going to Lambeau and beating them. Since Week 2, Aaron Rodgers is first or second in EVERY stat in the league. I like Garoppolo more than most, but in his playoff career, he completes 54% of his throws in the second half when it’s off-script, and he has a 49 passer rating. Garoppolo can struggle in the second half against great playoff teams. I’m going to take Green Bay with no conviction to win and cover, 31-24.”

Colin's prediction: Packers 31, 49ers 24.

Colin's pick: Green Bay -5.5

Rams at Buccaneers (SPREAD: TB -3)

“I like the Bucs to win and cover, although I do worry about Tampa Bay’s beat up center Ryan Jensen and Tristan Wirfs, right tackle. That is problematic for a quarterback who does not like getting hit and is not overly mobile. But the Bucs are 10-0 when they win the turnover battle, 8-0 at home this year, and Tom has been in this game so many times. Look at Tom’s numbers in Divisional Round home playoff games: He’s 12-1, he wins THIS GAME. Matthew Stafford is going to be asked to throw over 30 times, he only threw 17 times last week. The Rams won’t have great success running, and Stafford throwing 30-35 times worries me on the road. Stafford had 17 picks. Again, I say this with very little conviction. I really worry about Ryan Jensen, the center for Tampa, being hurt. If that’s the case and you go to a backup against Aaron Donald, and go to a backup with Tristian Wirfs and Von Miller, this could be a choppy, ugly, low-scoring game, and that gives the Rams great hope. But I’ll take Tampa, 27-21.”
Colin's prediction: Bucs 27, Rams 21.

Colin's pick: Tampa Bay -3

Bills at Chiefs (SPREAD: KC -1.5)

“This would be my strongest play, ehhh, maybe I’ll bet a little. I would take Kansas City -1.5. The Chiefs are number one in scoring. Let’s look at how Patrick Mahomes has done in this spot in his career: as a home playoff quarterback he has a 120 passer rating. Josh Allen tends to spike and then drop. The Bills are 0-5 in games decided by a possession. All the Bills wins are early Mike Tyson knockouts, if you get into strategy you could beat Tyson. If you get into strategy and want a refined and strategic game, that’s not built for Buffalo and I don’t see Kansas City getting blown out. If you look at Josh Allen this year he follows up these great games with a pullback game. Would I be shocked if he does something like hurdle players like last time? I would not. This would be my strongest play, Kansas City winning. I think it’s high scoring, though both defenses are more than capable. I don’t think it’s the shootout everybody thinks, 33-27, but they’ll be plenty of great defensive plays.”

Colin's prediction: Chiefs 33, Bills 27.

Colin's pick: Kansas City -1.5
