MANCHESTER, NH (WBZ NewsRadio) — Senator Jeanne Shaheen's office was evacuated Wednesday while police investigated a suspicious letter sent to the senator.

The Manchester District Fire Chief --- Mike Gamache --- says they received a call just before 5 p.m from Shaheen's office, expressing concerns about a threatening letter found in the office.

Gamache says the department notified the state police bomb squad --- they made entry into the offices on wall street and found nothing out of the ordinary.

Gamache also noted that threatening packages had shown up at congressional offices across the country in the last week.

Senator Shaheen tweeted about the incident --- thanking the quick and thorough response from both state and local officials.
